Manufacturing refers to the techniques of organising production. The [course_title] course teaches you the fundamentals of the manufacturing system and helps you to understand how the whole production system works.
You will learn the systems of analysing systems regarding material flow and storage, information flow, capacities, and times and durations of events. Other essential topics that will be discussed in the course are probability, inventory and queuing models, optimisation, and linear and dynamic systems. The course also guides you about factory planning and scheduling fundamentals that cover flow planning, bottleneck characterisation, buffer and batch-size analysis, and dynamic behaviour of production systems.
After completing the course, you will be able to know how to organise production through the proper manufacturing system.
Assessment
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
