Then enrol the Videogame Theory and Analysis Course course and learn more about video games through the interdisciplinary study of commercial video games as texts.

The course helps you to analyse the games from cultural, educational, and social functions in contemporary settings. You will play and analyse video games while examining debates surrounding how games function within socially situated contexts. The course shows you the contemporary literature about the game theory including the literature of Gee, Squire, Steinkuehler, Jenkins, Klopfer, Zimmerman and Salen, Juul, Bartle, Taylor, Aarseth. Apart from these, some of the commercial videogames will be discussed in the course.

Assessment

This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.

Certification
