This [course_title] serves as a practical guide to ray tracing and photon mapping. The notes are mostly aimed at readers familiar with ray tracing, who would like to add an efficient implementation of photon mapping to an existing ray tracer. The course itself also includes a description of the ray tracing algorithm. The [course_title] provides a detailed introduction of the ray-tracing and photon-mapping algorithms for simulating global illumination. In the course of the exercises a raytracer/photon mapper will be implemented.

Assessment

This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
