The [course_title] course teaches the principles of thermal radiation and their applications to engineering heat and photon transfer problems.

Throughout the course, you will learn about quantum and classical models of radiative properties of materials, electromagnetic wave theory for thermal radiation. Other topics included in the course are radiative transfer in absorbing, emitting, and scattering media, and coherent laser radiation, laser-material interactions, imaging, and infrared instrumentation. Finally, the course teaches you about the global warming, semiconductor manufacturing, combustion, furnaces, and high-temperature processing.

Assessment

This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
