Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system. Parkinson’s disease (PD) affects predominately dopamine-producing (“dopaminergic”) neurons in a specific area of the brain called substantia nigra. Named after English neurologist James Parkinson (1755-1824), who described the first case, it is a type of movement disorder causing trembling of hands, arms, legs, jaw and face, slowness of movement, etc.
The [course_title] teaches you about the symptoms and signs of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and different facts of PD. Throughout the course, you will learn about clinical characteristics, structural neuroimaging, neuropathology, and genetics. You will also know about cognitive function such as mental status, cognitive control processes, working memory, and long-term declarative memory.
Assessment
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer need to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
