This course shows you the aspects of eighteenth-century life.
The poems that illustrate the everyday and the extraordinary, the comic and the serious aspects of the period is focused in this course. The poems and their significance like how a satire on the pleasures of tobacco tells us of the relationship between intoxication and inspiration or how a poem on apple pie speaks of evolving national identity will be illustrated. The series covers sport, epigrams, children and food.
Assessment
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
Certification
