The aim of this course is to provide knowledge on risk and disaster management activities, demonstrate the use of geo-information technologies in emergency response, outline current challenges and motivate young geo-specialist to seek advanced solutions. Geo-information has proven to be extremely helpful in many aspects of risk and disaster management, locational and situational awareness, monitoring of hazards, damage detection, sharing information and defining vulnerability areas.
Assessment
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
Certification
