Social cognition is a broad term used to describe cognitive processes related to the perception, understanding, and implementation of linguistic, auditory, visual, and physical cues that communicate emotional and interpersonal information.
The [course_title] examines the question of how we understand other people’s behavior. It examines different philosophical theories concerning how we attribute mental states to others and discusses related questions such as whether this ability is unique to the human species, and whether it is innate. It will also examine the relationship between social cognition and certain moral issues, such as altruism.
Assessment
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
