The [course_title] course deals with the fundamental concepts of Seismology or the scientific study of earthquakes that move through and around the earth. You will learn how to study earthquakes and seismic waves. The techniques and methods that are necessary to understand elastic wave propagation in layered media, the relation between stress and strain, Wave equation, Travel time curves, Travel time tomography, Snell’s Law, Anisotropy, Focal mechanics, earthquake, etc. will be illustrated in the course.
Assessment
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
