Quantum mechanics is a fundamental theory in physics which describes nature at the smallest scales of energy levels of atoms and subatomic particles. The [course_title] course teaches the basic concepts of Quantum Mechanics covering wave properties, uncertainty principles, Schrödinger equation, and operator and matrix methods. You will be introduced to the concepts of one-dimensional potentials (harmonic oscillator), three-dimensional centrosymmetric potentials (hydrogen atom), and angular momentum and spin. Finally, the course focuses on variational principle and perturbation theory of Quantum Mechanics.
Assessment
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
