In the [course_title] course, you will be introduced to the basic concept of optical and optoelectronic phenomena. You will know about the devices based on classical and quantum properties of radiation and matter culminating in lasers and applications. : Maxwell’s electromagnetic waves, resonators and beams, classical ray optics and optical systems, quantum theory of light, matter and its interaction will also be discussed in the course. Other topics covered in the course are classical and quantum noise, lasers and laser dynamics, continuous wave and short pulse generation, light modulation. Finally, the course highlighted and explained examples from integrated optics and semiconductor optoelectronics and nonlinear optics.
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer need to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
