Fluid dynamics, a sub-discipline of fluid mechanics in Physics and Engineering, studies the flow of fluids – liquids and gases. The purpose of the [course_title] course is to teach you the basic concepts of fluid dynamics and make you prepare for the advanced courses in atmospheric science, physical oceanography, ocean engineering, etc. Emphasize will be given on wave kinematics, Cauchy-Stokes decomposition theorem, shallow water equations, how the Poincare waves behave like inertial oscillations and like gravity waves without rotation in the limits of small and large wavenumbers, and more.
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
