Computational design refers to the use of computational strategies to the design process. The Computational Design Training course addresses the Computational design procedures and their use in architectural and other designs.
Topics included in the course are shapes, shape arithmetic, symmetry, spatial relations, shape computations, and shape grammars. You will learn the shape grammar fundamentals and the application of shape grammars in creative design. The course explains and illustrates all these through hands-on exercises and abstract shape grammars. The course also includes discussion on the practical applications of shape grammars.
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
