What is the relation of chemistry to biology? Every biological process goes through series of biological reactions. To understand the biological phenomena you will need the knowledge of chemical biology. This course will introduce you to the basic principles of chemical biology. You will learn about structures and reactivity, chemical mechanisms of enzyme catalysis, chemistry of signaling, biosynthesis, and metabolic pathways. Basic concept of RNA, DNA, Glycobiology, Polyketides, Protein, and Amino Acid will also be focused.

Assessment

This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
