Genetics factors plays a central role in the causation of human disease. The knowledge of molecular genetics and genomics has been applied to the diagnosis and management of disease.
The basic principles of this course is to provide you with the necessary background to understand ongoing developments in genetics and their application to clinical problems. The focused topics include genetics, principles of disease, epidemiology, information gathering and assessment. The sequence features two modules: Medical Genetics and Medical Decision-Making.
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
