The [course_title] course is designed for the engineers and managers who want to optimise the design and operation of complex systems.
The course motivates the managers and engineers to use optimisation models for decision making. You will also learn to use several application domains (industries) for optimisation. Apart from these, the course focuses on optimisation modelling and solution techniques such as linear, non-linear, integer, and network optimisation, and heuristic methods. The course will also teach you the tools for interpreting and analysing model-based solutions including sensitivity and post-optimality analysis, bounding techniques. Finally, you will master the skills that are needed for identifying the opportunity.
The application-oriented course helps you to manage the implementation of an optimization-based decision support tool.
Assessment
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer need to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
