Superconductivity refers to the ability of certain materials to conduct electric current with practically zero resistance at very low absolute temperatures. The [course_title] course focuses on the superconductivity from a phenomenological approach. You will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of superconducting electronics. Other discussion includes electrodynamics of superconductors, London’s model, flux quantisation, Josephson Junctions, superconducting quantum devices, and equivalent circuits. You will also learn about high-speed superconducting electronics and quantised circuits for quantum computing. The course also covers an extensive discussion of type II superconductors, critical magnetic fields, pinning, and the critical state model. Finally, the basics of superconducting materials and microscopic theory of superconductivity will be explained in the course.

Assessment

This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
