Political thought or political philosophy studies the questions related to power, justice, rights, law, and other issues about governance. From the name of the course [course_title], you may guess that the course will discuss the political philosophy of the western world.
A general discussion about the origin of western thinking of polis will be discussed along with the discussion on Plato’s immortal work The Republic. Through the illustration of Allegory of the Cave from Plato’s work, you will understand Plato’s model of the ideal city-state.
The course also illustrates the modern political thought along with the liberal democracy and its critics.
Assessment
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
