The [course_title] course teaches the fundamental laws and physical processes that govern the sources, extraction, transmission, storage, degradation and end users of energy.

The course is divided into three parts covering the types of energy and its uses, sources of energy and systems and synthesis. You will learn about mechanical energy, heat energy, Entropy and temperature, etc. You will also learn about the sources of energy, fundamental forces in the universe, solar radiation, climate change, nuclear radiation, fuel cycles, waste and proliferation, energy storage, etc.

After completing the course, you will learn the following answer:

  • The amount of energy we get from wind
  • How a solar photovoltaic works
  • How OTEC (Ocean Thermal Energy Converter) works
  • What is global warming?
  • What makes engines efficient?
  • How does a nuclear reactor work?
  • What are the realistic hazards?

This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
