String theory is the branch of particle physics where the point-like particles are replaced by one-dimensional objects called strings. It is the modelling of subatomic particles as tiny one-dimensional “stringlike” entities instead of the conventional approach where they are modelled as zero-dimensional point particles. String theory tries to combine quantum mechanics with Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity.

The [course_title] is a foundation course that will deal with the basics of String theory. As a result, you will know about the fundamental elements of both quantum mechanics and theory of relativity as String theory is the combination of these two. You will also be familiarised with basic electromagnetism and statistical mechanics.

Assessment

This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.

Certification

Edukite courses are free to study. To successfully complete a course you must submit all the assignment of the course as part of assessment. Upon successful completion of a course, you can choose to make your achievement formal by obtaining your Certificate at a cost of £49.
