The [course_title] is designed to provide an introduction to political philosophy, including analysing a few of the significant texts and philosophers of the Western political tradition. You’ll also understand political development which concentrates upon the polis experience (Plato, Aristotle), the sovereign state (Machiavelli, Hobbes), constitutional government (Locke), and democracy (Rousseau, Tocqueville). Understand the way in which different political philosophies have given expression to various forms of political institutions and principles of life are examined in the course.
Assessment
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
