Organic Chemistry deals with matter that contain carbon atoms. Can you give an example of carbon based compound? All hydrocarbon such as Methane, Ethane contains carbon. They are more common than you think. Cellulose, the cell wall component of plants is an organic compound.

From this course you will gain knowledge about the Chemical Literature and Databases, Stereochemistry and Structural Organic Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Mechanistic and Physical Organic Chemistry, NMR Spectroscopy.

Assessment

This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
