Probability theory is an essential theory for the data scientist. It is the theory of analysing and making statements concerning the probability of the occurrence of uncertain events.

The [course_title] course teaches you the essential aspects of Probability theory. The course got its inspiration from the financial crisis of 2007-2008. The course will look at the reasons and cause of the crisis. Focuses will be given on random variables, independence, Monte Carlo simulations, expected values, standard errors, and the Central Limit Theorem.

**Assessment**

This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
