The principles of materials science and cell biology along with the design of medical implants, artificial organs, and matrices for tissue engineering are examined in the [course_title] course. The course focuses on the methods for biomaterials surface characterisation and analyses the protein adsorption on biomaterials. Major areas covered in the course are Molecular and cellular interactions with biomaterials, Mechanisms underlying wound healing and tissue remodelling, the design of implants, comparative analysis of analysis of intact, biodegradable, and bioreplaceable implants, etc.

Assessment

This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.

Certification
