The [course_title] course focuses on the abstraction mechanism for problem decomposition and solution formulation in the biomedical domain.
The course examines computer representation, storage, retrieval, and manipulation of biomedical data. You will learn the effect of programming paradigm choice on problem-solving approaches. The course also introduces you to data structures and algorithms. Apart from these, the course evaluates knowledge representation schemes for capturing biomedical domain complexity and principles of data modelling for efficient storage and retrieval. Finally, the course guides you to build a medical information system using the information provided in the course.
Assessment
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
