The [course_title] course teaches you the basic engineering principles and technical skills of construction and building. The course helps the engineers and other professionals to supervise the construction of buildings and other structures.
Throughout the course, you will learn about the thermal aspects of a building such as heat flow, air flow, humid flow, Condensation and moisture, etc. Other topics included in the course are lighting aspects of a building covering physics of light, photometry, Vision and colours, visual comfort, designing with natural lights, Electric lighting, etc. Apart from these, the course covers the acoustic aspects of a building that deals with the room acoustics, and construction principles and foundations. Finally, you will know the construction methods including masonry,
Concrete, timer, Steel, and other building methods such as walls, openings, floors and roofs.
Assessment
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
