Electromagnetism refers to the study of electromagnetic force or physical interaction that occurs between electrically charged particles. The [course_title] course focuses on the fundamental concepts of Electromagnetism including special relativity, electrodynamics of moving media, waves in dispersive media, microstrip integrated circuits, and quantum optics. Emphasis will be given on remote sensing, radiative transfer theory, scattering by rough surfaces, effective permittivities, random media, Green’s functions for planarly layered media, and integral equations in electromagnetic. You will also learn about the method of moments, time domain method of moments, EM waves in periodic structure such as the photonic crystals and negative refraction.
This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer need to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
